LOCAL HERITAGE MUSEUM

Open in the summertime.
Local heritage museum consist of two parts: artifact museum and Savonian yard. The artifact museum is divided into two sides, men's and women's based on how the household chores were traditionally shared between them.

You can also find "Luelahen ukko" ("Old man of Luelahti") on display - a stone age gouge found in Kiuruvesi. It is supposedly the only gouge found in Europe to have been sculpted into a shape of a human head.

Savonian yard consists of artifact museum (originally a parish granary for storing grains in case of poor harvest or crop failure), house of Hyvärilä where each room is decorated to represent Finnish farm houses in different eras) and livestock buildings, barns, windmill, milk churn stand and smoke sauna.
